Starter Tier List

Starter tiers answer one question: which white-portal kits actually farm souls in Undertale Multiverse Simulator 1.5? Not which AU you like. Not which model looks rare. 1.5 reworked attacks, so original-game showcases lie. Prices in this list are community-reported from the original wiki and should be confirmed on the stand. Full shopping notes live on starter characters. The parent ranking is the tier list hub.

Criteria are the same as the hub: farm speed first, PvP pressure second, soul-cost efficiency third. A 150,000 Storyshift that loses to free Pacifist is C even if the lobby crowd claps.

S — farm on this

Pacifist Sans (0 souls). The free kit. Players type NERF PACIFIST SANS under 1.5 showcases for a reason. It contests paid starters and some lazy mid kits. Stay on it until a purchase clearly prints souls faster. R lowers HP, Z opens emotes; the kit is simple enough that the controls sheet matters more than the moves.

Nothing else in the white portal is S. Last Breath is close and still A. If a patch actually nerfs Pacifist, this row moves — check version 1.5 instead of assuming the comment section already won.

A — the first real spends

Last Breath (9,000 community-reported). First starter that feels like a kit instead of a costume. Worth the dump if Pacifist is awkward on mobile or you want a second moveset.

Ruins Dust (11,000 community-reported). Same band as Last Breath, plus it is the door to Hyper Dust Sans. Buy this if you plan that evolution; skip it if you are rushing Photonegative and will never click the Dust pad. Evo notes: character evolutions.

Underswap (300). Only A as a 300-soul comfort buy when Pacifist feels wrong on your device. It is not a spike. If Pacifist already farms, keep the 300.

A-tier starters exist to reach the 200,000 door in better shape. They are not a reason to ignore the stronger-zone tier list.

B — fine on the way, bad as a plan

Nega (27,500), Killer (80,000), Geno (100,000), Insanity (135,000), Storyshift (150,000). These are the late white-portal names. They work. They also sit right under Photonegative Sans at 200,000, which is a real mid-game spike on stronger-zone characters. Spending 150,000 on Storyshift then needing another 200,000 for Photonegative is how accounts stall.

If you already own one of these from a collect binge, use it. Do not route a fresh grind through all five. Hardmode Insanity, Dusttale, and other evo pads that show up in starter showcases are not extra B ranks — they are evolutions with separate prices.

C — flavor

Science (500), Underfell (750), Outertale (1,500), Swapswap (3,500), Negative (5,000), Hardtale (7,000), Fresh (40,000), Horror (60,000). Cheap or mid-cheap kits that do not change farm speed enough to justify a detour. Fresh and Horror are the worst offenders because they cost tens of thousands for style. Buy them after Photonegative, not before.

Papyrus-side cheap kits (Underswap Papyrus, base Swapfell) are the same rule: collect if you like the line, especially if you want Swapfell Phase 2 later, but do not treat them as a farm route. Phase 2 is an evolution with no public 1.5 cost on this wiki.

What starter tiers refuse to do

They refuse to rank Pesti, Obsessed Monster, Dusttrust, or ACT 3. Those are not white-portal kits. Event ranks sit with event characters. Stronger-room ranks sit on the stronger-zone tier list.

They refuse to copy original-game Last Breath Phase 3 or Fatal Error prices as 1.5 facts. Fatal Error is an evolution; Last Breath phases are extra pads. See how to phase and how to evolve.

They refuse to list a NULL zone. 10,666,666 was original-game wiki material.

A first-week buy order

  1. Join place 112050560592995. Souls from the hacked original do not transfer. Walk the getting started checklist.
  2. Farm on Pacifist. Learn the 15-player spacing.
  3. Optional: Underswap at 300 or Last Breath at 9,000 if you hate the free kit.
  4. Optional: Ruins Dust at 11,000 if Hyper Dust is a goal.
  5. Stop buying from the white portal. Follow the soul grinding route to 200,000.
  6. Confirm the next stand with the soul unlock tool. Photonegative is the intended spike, not Storyshift.

Promo codes, if they ever exist, do not move a C kit into S. Redeem from codes and how to redeem. Discord pointers: Discord links.

Pacifist is S because it is free and it wins. Last Breath and Ruins Dust are A because they are the only cheap spends that change the account. Everything from Fresh to Storyshift is a collect you make after the stronger rooms are open. If a lobby player flexes Horror at 60,000 while sitting on 40,000 souls, they are not ahead of you — they bought paint. Rank the white portal that way and the 200,000 door shows up on time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Why is Pacifist S-tier?

It costs 0 and players still call it too strong in 1.5. Farm on it until a paid kit clearly wins. Kit list: starter characters.

Should I buy Storyshift?

Not as a route. It is 150,000 community-reported, just under Photonegative at 200,000. Spend that stack on the stronger zone instead.

Are these prices official?

Community-reported from the original wiki. 1.5 reworked attacks. Confirm the stand and the soul unlock tool.

Where do I go after Last Breath?

Out of the white portal. Follow the grind route toward Photonegative, then use the stronger-zone tier list.

Does Fresh help the Pesti fight?

No. Pesti is a ranged event fight. Read the Pesti Sans guide and keep a farm kit, not a 40,000 style buy.
